The Vendee is another region in decline for holidays and many sites have turned to mobile home sales to replace the lost income.

The Vendee is definitely a region of two halves – the coast where there is lots to do and inland where there’s not so much. Having said that, the sites on the coast are very commercial and the bigger ones have mobile home sales pretty well sewn up, it’s a French built van supplied by them or nothing in most cases (for which they charge a hefty mark up).

Inland especially around La Roche there are smaller sites that are very popular with British and Irish owners who have taken advantage of the great rates you can get from tour operators for their ex-rental mobile homes.
