Summer and ski jobs in France

You’d be hard pushed to find someone who doesn’t like Brittany. Its like a huge Cornwall with better weather and food. Just like the Welsh, English and even some Scots, the Bretons think of King Arthur and Merlin as their own. They love their ancient British links and celebrate it all the time with festivals such as the one in Lorient promoting mainly Celtic culture and music. (There are loads of them but this seems to be the biggest one and even if its not normally your thing its worth a look). www.festival-interceltique.com. There are also some great normal music festivals which are much cheaper and relaxed than the ones in the UK. One of the most famous is the Route du Rock in St Malo.

In Brittany there are twice the national average campsite pitches per 1000 population. Hundreds of sites in a region heavily in decline for camping tourism. This baffles us, you can’t blame it all on cheap flights to Spain! The upside is that more sites in Brittany have open arms waiting for private mobile home owners.

If you don’t fancy approaching independent sites then Siblu (formerly Haven Europe) have a couple of big sites in Brittany if the UK style site is what you want. They do leaseback deals etc and their sites are very well run so don’t discount the idea. Kerlann near the beautiful town of Pont Aven in South Brittany is our favourite of the Siblu sites, see here
